A man walked up to an armed police officer shouting "shoot me, shoot me", after a street fight with bats and axes in suburban Nelson yesterday.
Police received numerous calls from residents in the suburb of Stoke reporting a group of 10 men fighting, armed with bats and axes, about4.45pm, Inspector Steve Greally said.
When police arrived there was no one fighting, but two men were arrested shortly after.
A 23-year-old man initially resisted arrest and approached an armed police officer saying "shoot me, shoot me".
The officer pepper-sprayed him before he was arrested and charged with possessing a knife and resisting arrest.
