An award to help raise awareness of business consultants and advisers has led to two Masterton businesses receiving large amounts of advice and training.
Improv Us and Wairarapa Chamber of Commerce entered a competition called Join the Race, run by CapabilityNZ.
The competition ran from February through until June and in thattime both businesses went through an assessment process and then into the draw.
A justice of the peace then drew businesses from a hat to win the award and on Friday Roisin King from CapabilityNZ presented the businesses with their awards.
Improv Us, a business performance improvement coaching company, won the grand prize of $15,000 of business advice and training to help them better their bottom line so they can better help support businesses.
Wairarapa Chamber of Commerce, a business networking and advice company, won $2500. Their award was part of a competition to register the most business assessments per capita.
They came in the top 10 and won their share of $11,000.
Improv Us has only recently moved to the Wairarapa from Melbourne and Marion Haydon from the business said they planned to use local businesses and providers to benefit the Wairarapa.
