I understand that you will need cash to buy drinks and food at Eden Park and other games venues, and that Eftpos and credit cards can't be used. Is this correct? Also is there a list of prohibited items you can't take into a stadium, eg. food, drink including water, umbrella, pushchairs, etc?
Miller, Auckland.
The food and beverage stalls at Eden Park are cash only. The charges for using ATMs at the stadium are the same as for those at any other location.
On the Eden Park website, (edenpark.co.nz) there is a drop-down menu of 'How Do I?' and included in this is a list of conditions of entry. Without checking every single website for other venues, I would think that these restrictions apply in general.
You cannot take open drink containers in, or even sealed ones if they are larger than one litre. You may not take in commercially produced takeaway food. You cannot take prams, pushchairs or strollers into the stadium. There is a limited amount of storage near Gates A, D, E and H at Eden Park but you use these at your own risk. Umbrellas are not prohibited, but you must not put them up while you are in the stadium.
I have been a season ticket holder at Eden Park for years. I now hear that the members' lounge will not be open during the Rugby World Cup games. Is this so? Stuart Davidson, Mt Eden.
The members' bar will not be available during RWC games at Eden Park, plus your season membership cards will not be valid to gain you entry to the park for these matches. The Auckland Rugby ticket office in the ASB Stand is closed until the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup. If you have any queries re Rugby World Cup ticketing, you can contact Rugby World Cup 2011 ticketing via email (helpdesk@rwc2011ticketing.com) or by calling the RWC 2011 Ticketing Helpdesk on 0800 RUGBY 11 (0800 784 2911) or 09 367 2011, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. However, if you wish to contact Auckland Rugby with Eden Park ground membership queries, call (09) 815-4823 or email Pauline.williams@aucklandrugby.co.nz
Are spectators allowed to take video-cameras (for personal use, not commercial purposes) into the games? Simon Harmer, Auckland.
Under the conditions of entry (see answer to first question), recording devices of any kind are not permitted, regardless of whether they are used for still or moving pictures.
* Here's a helpful hint I overheard: If you are taking small children to games or celebrations where there are likely to be large crowds, write your cellphone number on their arm.
That way, if they get lost, it will be easy for you to be contacted so you can be told where to collect them from.
