All Blacks great Sir Bryan Williams is calling on the public to get behind a proposed plan for Western Springs that would be a community solution – not a commercial sell-out, he says.
Aucklanders are being given the chance to give their feedback on proposed plans between a 12,500-seat sports stadium and a Ponsonby Rugby Club/ music promoter proposal at the well-known venue.
Submissions are open from midday today until June 15.
‘We’re not looking to build walls or gates’
Williams, who is also a Ponsonby Rugby Club stalwart, said: “This is not just about rugby. It’s about preserving access to one of Auckland’s most iconic community spaces.”
