A 70-year-old man's collar bone was fractured when he was attacked early this morning while confronting a group breaking windows outside his Naenae home.
Hutt Valley Police said three men went to an address in Bush Street, Naenae early this morning and smashed a number of windows.
Detective Sergeant ChristiaanBarnard said the 70-year-old victim came out to confront the men, and they then started striking him about the body and head.
The victim suffered a fractured collar bone and needed stitches for a wound on his head.
The men then left in a vehicle along Bush Street towards Treadwell Street.
