A makeup vlogger has made a moving and thought-provoking video based on the hurtful comments she received when she began baring her makeup-less face on social media.
Em Ford, who gives makeup tutorials on the YouTube channel My Pale Skin, began posting images of herself without makeup three months ago. Since then she says she has received over 100,000 comments about her appearance.
The three-minute film starts with Ford's face without makeup, surrounded by a sample of some of the real-life comments posted about her photos.
"WTF is wrong with her face?" "Revolting," "I can't even look at her," and "You look disgusting" are some examples of the comments she received.

The video then shows her applying makeup, and the contrasting comments her made-up face inspires.
"You look beautiful," "You're so pretty," "This is amazing," they read.
However, these comments quickly turn to accusations that the act of wearing makeup is 'misleading'.
"This is false advertising," one reads, while another states "This should be illegal."
Ford then removes her makeup, and ends the video with the message: "You are beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Not even yourself."
