It finally happened: the Duchess of Cambridge wore a design by Emilia Wickstead, her New Zealand-born designer favourite.

She arrived in Dunedin for yesterday's church service in a blue pleated dress by the London-based designer, teamed with the fern print brooch worn on arrival to New Zealand and a bespoke hat by Jane Taylor Millinery - featuring yet another fern.

Auckland-born Wickstead is a favourite of the Duchess, as both are known for their ladylike aesthetic. Kate has previously worn several bespoke pieces from the designer, including a pastel pink version of yesterday's dress in 2012.

Later, she changed for a game of Rippa Rugby to a casual sweater from British designer Jonathan Saunders, followed by another change for a wine tasting in Queenstown - a gingham shirt worn with the same Zara jacket and Stuart Weitzman wedges worn in Auckland on Friday.

On this tour Catherine has recycled dresses, worn variations of past outfits and selected her preferred - mostly British - labels.

Watch: Royal Tour: Dunedin and Kate's baby bump?

For Saturday's events in Hamilton and Cambridge, she wore an emerald green coat from Erdem, another London favourite.

But with only two more opportunities, the most surprising and unlikely thing she could do at this point is wear something New Zealand designed and made.
