A teen was in tears after she discovered the dressmaker ruined her prom gown and it looked more like a plucked chicken than a dress.

Malexa Maeweather's mother posted pictures of her 18-year-old daughter in the prom gown on Facebook, slamming the designer.
Malexa was looking forward to her prom, but it was almost completely ruined the night before the event, reports news.com.au.
Mother Dee Lewis, from New York, said the dressmaker had attempted to charge them almost $400 for the sheer, white, long-sleeved gown that donned clusters of feathers on the back and chest.

The designer promised Malexa she would make her something beautiful with material she already owned. Malexa was excited because the designer said she wanted to "play around with the design".
"Malexa didn't know anything about what the dress would look like," Ms Lewis told Yahoo.
"She (the designer) didn't offer any reimbursement as a professional courtesy."
Luckily, the dress didn't ruin Malexa's prom. Just two hours before the milestone event a friend of Ms Lewis' friend gave Malexa her daughter's dress that she wore to prom the year before.
But Malexa ended up saving the poorly designed dress with the help of another designer. They used the bottom half and redesigned the top.
