Women will not have to pay for the contraceptive injection Depo Provera for the next three years, a move that has delighted Family Planning.
The Government's drug-buying agency, Pharmac, yesterday announced the results of its latest tender round, including the full subsidy of the injection.
Depo Provera is administered by a doctor every 12 weeks and is almost 100 per cent effective against pregnancy. It had cost around $5 an injection, on top of the doctor's charge.
