Originally a tribute to John Lennon, this turned into an appallingly mawkish and self-congratulatory homage to New York City after September 11.
The opening credits announce that it is "starring" Kevin Bacon, Kevin Spacey, Ben Stiller and so on. With Alanis Morissette, Shelby Lynne, Nelly Furtado and Craig David it's hardly a line-up of Lennon associates.
They offer lifeless covers interpolated with stars such as the self-important, sentiment-oozing Dustin Hoffman, and snippets of Lennon speaking.
Try lasting past the opener, Yolanda Adams perpetrating melody-mangling soul-diva nonsense on Imagine that only a Pop Idol candidate could love. Nonsense.
