As Kiwis battle with defeating boredom over the four-week lockdown period, Radio Hauraki has come up with a way to share a drink with your friends while remaining in isolation.
Friday drinks have long been a part of New Zealand's genetic makeup. But while we must join forces to steady the spread of coronavirus, we won't let it stop us from virtually socialising with our friends.
Starting this Friday, the troops from Hauraki will be launching National Happy Hour - a time for great New Zealanders to crack open a cold one and share responsible virtual cheers with their mates.
Between 5pm and 6pm every Friday, share a photo or video of you "cheersing" the camera on your phone then hashtag #VirtualCheers #NationalHappyHour and tag your mates on Facebook and Instagram.
Radio Hauraki will also be playing some banging tunes to get you in the mood for social interaction, but at a clear distance while you self-isolate to help kick coronavirus to touch.
Remember to drink responsibly, because you don't want to be 'that guy' who can't handle their drink.
Let's #SteadyTheSpread and beat coronavirus as a whanau of 5 million.
