A mother's cunning plan to see if anyone in her home would pick up rubbish they saw on the floor has gone viral for proving her point.
Miranda Crimbing posted on Facebook explaining how she hid a US$5 note under a piece of rubbish to see if anyone in her house would pick it up. If they did, they'd get to keep the money.
She posted the photos to Facebook 22 hours ago and it immediately went viral, with people all over the world wondering whether anyone in the house had noticed the very obvious piece of rubbish on the floor.
So far, it seems we have no winners.
"Well, while trying to prove a point to my kids, we've just surpassed the 48hr mark of the 'who will pick up the random piece of trash that they KNOW isn't supposed to be there' challenge... Between the kids AND the husband, and MULTIPLE trips in and out of the bathroom, this little piece of heaven may just be in it for the long haul," she wrote alongside the photos.
The post has been shared more than 190,000 times in less than a day, as well receiving nearly 240,000 likes.
People have been sharing how they can use this idea in their own homes, perhaps as a little incentive to get family members to help around the house.
"I'm just going to put a 5 under the trash can. See how often someone is willing to take it out before it becomes an avalanche," someone said.
