YouTube star dumps 'world's sexiest weather girl' to play Call of Duty. Youtube / FaZe Censor

A 23-year-old professional gamer who caught flack for dumping his glamorous weather girl girlfriend to spend more time playing Call of Duty has revealed the truth behind their split.

Doug Martin, dubbed FaZe Censor on his wildly popular YouTube channel with well over 2million subscribers, released an emotional video Tuesday regarding his retired romance with Mexican TV show host and model, Yanet Garcia.

Martin was mocked relentlessly online in recent weeks after he ditched his 27-year-old lover, labelled the 'hottest weather girl in the world,' shortly before his Call of Duty Championship took off, according to the Daily Mail.

Now, the social media influencer is claiming the reasoning behind the sensational split was a misunderstanding - and the couple had underlying issues the rest of the world didn't see.

In the clip titled, "WHY I BROKE UP WITH YANET GARCIA," Martin revealed the main issue began when she demanded a portion of the money he made from his soaring YouTube channel.

Martin has an estimated 2018 net worth of US$1.5million up from US$800,000 in 20-17-2018, according to AlphaLife.

Garcia, who Martin met on social media before the two became a couple and moved in together for a year in New York, had been featured in some of his videos - hence her request.

"Everything started to turn when I mentioned to her how much money could be made on YouTube,' Martin said in the clip viewed almost 700,000 times by late Wednesday.

"At this time, YouTube wasn't really that mainstream. Nobody really respected YouTube as a profession as they do now.

"So, when she understood how much money I was making on YouTube, she wanted to get a percentage of the videos I was making."

The Long Island resident said that, while he wasn't comfortable with Garcia's request, he understood why she felt entitled to the financial gain.

"I also had this other side of me where I'm like, 'Is this morally correct? Is it right to give somebody money? Why can't we just support each other?'"

Although he declined to compensate her, Martin said he helped his girlfriend financially and even bought her a car - which she apparently had a poor attitude about, according to the gamer.

"The one thing that really ticked me... and I have to be honest with you guys, was when I bought this girl a car.

"Most of the time if you were gonna buy your girlfriend a car, they would be really happy and appreciative of it."

Martin said his bombshell lover didn't like that he wanted to film the moment she received the sweet gift - and questioned his intentions.

The YouTube sensation went on to say that he paid her bills, visa and treated her like a queen overall.

"I literally did everything to make sure that she was good, that she was comfortable... that she could be learning English," he said.

"Literally, anything and everything... I was always there and always supportive. I would never cheat, I would never lie, I would never steal. I was really honest, and I think that was an issue."

Aside from her financial demands, Martin said Garcia didn't approve of his friends and hated when they hung out.

"She would give me ultimatums about who my friends could be."

Martin revealed he ultimately made the new video to give the public insight about the breakup - but 'didn't want to throw her under the bus in any way.'

Garcia, meanwhile, seems to be doing just fine since the split.

The model and TV journalist has been posting up a storm on social media - showing herself having fun at work and spending time with loved ones.

Garcia is recognised for her ample derriere which she would allow men to kick as a good luck measure for Mexican players at the FIFA World Cup.

She recently appeared on her own show, Hoy, to chat about the 'difficult days' since her three-year relationship came to a screeching halt.

The Instagram star said she did not expect the break-up and there were 'hard moments' that came along with it.

Garcia said on the show: "But I am serene because it was a beautiful relationship... we shared wonderful experiences, we grew up together.

"I actually do not judge him, on the contrary... I wish him all the success. I hope that he wins that championship and it gives him all that he wants."
