At 105, one woman has proven you're never too old to make a racy request on your birthday.
Ivena Smailes celebrated her 105th birthday last week at a rest home in the UK. In the lead up to her birthday, Smailes had what some might deem an unusual request froman elderly woman: A pack of "hunky firefighters".
But staff at the Addison Court Care Home in Crawcrook, UK, set about making her dream a reality and on her birthday, Smailes was delighted when a crew of local firefighters came through her front door. One even climbed through her window.
Speaking to ABC News , Smailes said, "It was out of this world".
She was joined by about 40 friends and family members, who turned out to welcome the crew of five from the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service department.
And all because the lady loves a burly firefighter! Congratulations to Ivy Smailes from Crawcrook who has celebrated her 105th birthday from all at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
According to facility care worker Debra Carter, who initially planned Smaile's party, this isn't the first birthday request she has made. Nor is it the last.
"[Ivy] sends us little challenges for her birthday every year and this year she asked for firemen ...She's already said that next year she wants to meet Prince Harry," Carter said.
