Viral 'thigh reading' is the new palm reading

Women are sharing pictures of stretch marks and scars on their thighs as part of the latest trend to celebrate body positivity on social media.

The hashtag #thighreading has gone viral, with women all over the world using social media to embrace their imperfections.

Twitter user @princess_labia, who started the hashtag, told MTV she didn't expect it to trend.

"I was just sitting on the couch with my legs crisscrossed and I was just looking at my stretch marks and feeling them, because they're kind of deep some places and yeah, I was just looking at it and I was like, 'oh, it's like a palm reading'."

Thousands of women have since posted pictures of their legs, to share their scars, stretch marks and stories online.
