Claire McLeod (Lisa Chappell)

A hands-on operator, Claire has taken over Dover's Run after the death of her father, Jack. For Claire, life is about work and little else — enter long-lost half-sister Tess to throw a spanner into the works.

Tess Silverman McLeod (Bridie Cater)

A perky city girl who at first sees Dover's Run simply as a cash cow. Estranged from Claire for 20 years, Tess realises blood is thicker than cash. Tess brims with enthusiasm and acts as a foil to her sister.

Meg Fountain (Sonia Todd)

Meg started as housekeeper and nanny for the McLeod family and is the mother figure in the series. She lives in not-so-grand digs with her teenage daughter Jodi and has a secret liaison with one of the farm workers. Todd has been a virtual fixture on long-running Australian drama Police Rescue.

Becky Howard (Jessica Napier)

From a not-so-nice family, Becky has a bit of a "reputation" around town. She hits the skids and the McLeods take her under their wing.

Jodi Fountain (Rachel Carpani)

Daughter of Meg, Jodi is your typical teen — self-absorbed with plans for herself in the bright lights. She finds herself reluctantly stuck where she is for now.

Brothers Alex (Aaron Jeffery) and Nick Ryan (Myles Pollard) look like they just stepped out of a Speights ad. Naturally, they are as different as chalk and cheese and compete with each other over just about everything — including the McLeod sisters.
