The third and final vote is expected to be held on the Marine and Coastal Area Bill today.
And while the Government may be breathing a sigh of relief, opponents in ACT, Labour, the Greens and independent MP Hone Harawira are not happy.
Mr Harawira claims Maori around the country are opposed to the law. But Attorney-General Chris Finlayson rejects that, saying iwi leaders have written to him.
"They support the legislation and they also support the Maori Party';s very principled position on the legislation" he told Parliament.
This bill may not end the contentious issue with the Maori Party refusing to rule out bringing it up again if that's what Maori want.
