Gunshots fired just down the road from the Levin police station resulted in an armed offenders squad callout at the weekend.
Levin police are seeking information about two suspicious vehicles driving along Salisbury St last Saturday night, shortly before two gunshots were fired, at around 9pm.

A 33-year-old Palmerston North man has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
A police spokesperson said there were two possible vehicles seen leaving the area. One was described as white and the other silver or grey.
Police are continuing to investigate the matter and seek information from the public. Descriptions or sightings of the vehicles are required.
Nobody was injured in the incident, but anyone with information on the suspicious vehicles can call Police on 105 and quote file number 200503/1441, or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
