Kim Kardashian's only achievement is her big butt and her family are talentless, says veteran actor Alan Dale.
The New Zealand-born actor has carved a career in Hollywood any aspiring antipodean actor would be proud of following his days on Aussie soap Neighbours.
His list of feature films includes IndianaJones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, Entourage, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Among his main TV credits are Ugly Betty, Lost, ER and The OC If Dale was 39 and not 69, a lot more would be made of his success, not that he's complaining.
He's happy for the likes of the Kardashians to be fodder for glossy mags and social media.
"When you are younger, the fame is almost as important as the acting," Dale told AAP from Los Angeles.
"Look at people like these Kardashians. They are famous for being famous. They actually can't do anything except have a big a***. They don't actually have any talent at all.

"When you're young you pretend that's (being famous) not what you really want but it is.
"As you get older ... I've had my share of all that sort of stuff, I don't need crowds in the street. I am very happy with the way we live our life here."
His remarks seem firmly aimed at Kim Kardashian, who made her name on the back of a 2003 sex tape with her then boyfriend Ray J, but is more widely known these days for her reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, her music star husband Kanye West, and her raunchy selfies on her Instagram page.
Dale, who was well known for playing Jim Robinson on Neighbours for more than 1000 episodes, moved to the US about 16 years ago. His first success was a five-episode contract on ER.
Not convinced he still had what it takes to make it in Hollywood, Dale went back to acting school to sharpen up on a few skills.
"There was one thing that used to happen to me, when I got a script I'd read it and I could see all the characters except for mine." Dale said.
"What my teacher taught me ... you think more about what your character is thinking about, not just what they are saying, that changed things for me quite a lot." The New Zealand-born actor may be based in LA but he spends a fair bit of time travelling.
For the last three years he has spent several months at a time in Cape Town, South Africa shooting the TV series Dominion.
