Tour news: Major Lazer to headline Auckland dance party

Major Lazer will headline Auckland dance party Our House in November.

Summer is set to be kicked off in style with an Auckland dance party headlined by crazed bassheads Major Lazer and DJ Snake.

The Lean On collaboraters created one of the year's biggest crossover hits, and they're teaming up again to headline this year's Our House dance party in Auckland.

Our House will be held at Mt Smart Stadium on November 27, it was confirmed today.

Other performers include DJ Duke Dumont, Oliver Heldens and Galantis. More will be announced for the multi-stage festival.

Major Lazer were last here as part of the 2013 Big Day Out, and they'll be bringing the full team for Our House, including front man Diplo.

They're known for highly energetic shows. At the Big Day Out, Diplo rolled around the front rows in a giant zorb ball.

They'll be performing on the back of their latest album Peace is the Mission, released earlier this year.

DJ Snake is known for his huge hit single Turn Down For What, a collaboration with Lil Jon that's had 267 million YouTube views.

Other summer festivals already confirmed include R&B and hip-hop festival Soulfest, New Year's party Rhythm & Vines, and McLaren Falls, a new festival being held in the Bay of Plenty.

Our House ticket pre-sales begins on July 30 through www.ourhouse.co.nz. They go on general release on July 31 through Ticketmaster.
