Pierce Brosnan has been spotted at yet another local spot as he continues his travels around New Zealand.
The James Bond star recently stopped in at Fresh & Tasty Mangōnui for a taste of a Kiwi classic – battered fish and chips.
“Word gets around about Fresh and Tasty,” thetakeaway shop wrote on its Facebook page. “Around the world perhaps. A real treat to have Pierce come and dine with us.”
It’s unclear what Brosnan ordered during his visit, but the stop has sparked plenty of excitement online.
Gallery director Anna Jackson told the Herald that Brosnan had been a “thoughtful and genuinely curious” visitor to the Onehunga gallery.
“[Brosnan] spent time with our current exhibition, Brett Graham’s Doorway to Night, and also enjoyed viewing a broader selection of works by other artists across the gallery,” Jackson said.
“He was very generous with the staff and artists he met – a real gentleman and funny.”
The 72-year-old has long been passionate about visual art and illustration, debuting a solo exhibition So Many Dreams in 2023.
Jackson said it had been a “pleasure” to host the star but wouldn’t share details of any specific purchases or requests out of respect for the privacy of “all visitors and collectors”.
He also visited the Auckland Art Gallery, where he received a guided tour of Taimoana | Coastlines: Art in Aotearoa and Ngā Taonga Tūturu: Treasured Māori Portraits with curators Nathan Pōhio and Jane Davidson Ladd.
