KEY POINTS:
Hellyeah are a heavy metal "supergroup" made up of members from Pantera, Damageplan and Mudvayne.
So, when these southern US boys play the Powerstation in Auckland on June 27 we're picking it's going to be one big loud party to celebrate their debut self-titled album.
The most famous member of the band is drummer Vinnie Paul Abbot (from Pantera and Damageplan), but it also features Mudvayne's singer Chad King and guitarist Greg Tribbett.
Hellyeah is the first band Abbott has been in since his brother Dimebag Darrell, who was also in Pantera and Damageplan, was gunned down on stage in 2004 during a Damageplan gig by one of the band's fans.
Meanwhile, indie popsters Tilly and the Wall play the Kings Arms on August 9. Think something like Brazilian band CSS, only from Nebraska.
And Boston metallers Unearth, who supported Killswitch Engage recently, play the Studio on K Rd, July 18 with local support from Antagonist and the Chase. On the rumour mill, it looks like alt-country-rocker Ryan Adams will be heading this way soon. Plus, see Saturday's TimeOut for another announcement that'll get you so excited you'll be up all night long.
