Sky TV loses 30 channels for 45 minutes due to a 'technical fault'

A "technical fault" caused Sky TV viewers to go without 30 channels on Tuesday.

For 45 minutes, subscribers were blocked from watching shows on popular channels such as MTV, Comedy Central, Prime, CNN, Disney Channel, SKY Box Office, and MTV Music.

Sky TV used social media to spread the word about a "technical fault" about 6.19pm.

An update about 20 minutes later said they had "all hands on deck" to get the problem fixed as soon as possible.

"The majority of our channels are still available, however about 30 are currently affected.

"I'll update you as soon as I have any developments. Sorry to interrupt your viewing!"

While the problem was sorted within 45 minutes, some were not happy with the outage.

"1 month refund please," one commented.

"You should give me a good reason why I shouldn't change to Netflix, sky?" another added.

Another woman claimed to have just four channels working.

"I have 4 channels! That's it! So that's way more than 30 channels not working".
