Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins has revealed the band are on an indefinite hiatus, or as he calls it, "i hate us".
"We're on indefinite i hate us ... Instead of hiatus, I call it i hate us," he says in a video, which has just been posted to YouTube.
"The world needs a break from us for a little while."
The video has emerged as rumours of the band's demise hit fever pitch, with the band posted a Tweet telling fans to "stay tuned" for an "official band announcement".
The announcement of an announcement follows a Page Six report in the New York Post that tension was building between Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins over plans for the front man to go solo.
"The band is billing it as a 'break,' but it's totally Dave going solo and Taylor is pissed about it," a source told Page Six.
A band spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly the break-up rumours were "utterly ridiculous".
What will happen? As the Foos themselves said, stay tuned.
