Actress Anne Hathaway has blasted an Argentinian journalist who claimed she refused to shake his hand because she was scared of catching Ebola.
Reporter Alexis Puig flew from Buenos Aires to Los Angeles to chat to Hathaway and her Interstellar co-stars last week.
Puig claims the actress avoided touching him and he took to Twitter after the interview to vent his shock.
"Anne Hathaway didn't shake my hand because she was afraid of ebola #I'mAThirdWorldJournalist ... Christopher Nolan, Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain were great in the interviews (and none of them denied me their hands). Take that Anne!" Puig tweeted.
However, a representative for Hathaway has slammed his comments, telling Britain's Daily Mail: "That is nonsense - she wasn't shaking anyone's hands because she was coming down with a cold and didn't want to get anyone sick."
The Ebola outbreak has left almost 5000 dead, nearly all in west Africa.
Liberia has been hit worst, with 4665 recorded cases and 2705 deaths, according to the WHO.
