But Puru admitted he had more important things on his mind in hospital - finding something to watch the Rio Olympics on.
Puru also thanked the nurse who helped prepare him for his operation, tweeting: "Whoever shaved my groin did an amazing job - Can I book you again #hospitalgroomers."
The 40-year-old presenter, who left his co-hosting role on The Edge earlier this year, has been recovering by tweeting his support for the New Zealand equestrian and Sevens teams competing at the Olympics.
The spokesperson said he was home recuperating from his surgery.
His role on The Cafe beside Mel Homer is this week being filled by Jason Reeves.
Puru isn't the only celebrity associated with The Bachelor to make a hospital trip recently, with runner-up Naz Khanjani recently being admitted over an infection.
