Lorde's mum posts baby pics to social media

As Lorde celebrates her 18th birthday today, her mum took to Instagram to reminisce, posting a series of adorable baby pics of the chart topper.

Sonja Yelich posted the photos to her Instagram account, which has nearly 20,000 followers, last night.

She also posted photos of Ella's younger brother Angelo, who turns 13 today and shares a birthday with his big sister.

Lorde officially kicked off her birthday celebrations at midnight, releasing the new music video for her song Yellow Flicker Beat.

This morning, she was seen out for a walk with her Mum and boyfriend but there's no word yet on any party plans the young chart topper might have in store.
