Zane Lowe is known for his hyper enthusiasm. But even by the Kiwi DJ's standards, his Beats 1 debut was over the top.
An 18-minute compilation of everything Lowe said in his first Beats 1 show, which launched along with Apple Music yesterday, makes him sound just a little crazy.
The Soundclip clip, compiled by The Verge, cuts out the music and shows the 41-year-old constantly shouting several phrases at listeners.
His favourite lines included slogans like, "Beats 1, always on!" "Worldwide, 100 countries!" "This is breaking!" "It's new - get into it!" and "We like it! We love it!"
Lowe frequently listed countries and cities that Beats 1 is available in, rattling off names like New York, London, Germany, Brooklyn and Vancouver at double-quick time.
He included New Zealand in that list, giving shout outs to Wellington, Auckland, his mother, and his brother.
It's the first time Kiwi fans have been able to hear Lowe on air: his London-based BBC Radio 1 show, which he recently left to helm Beats 1, was blocked internationally.
Lowe's style, yelling over songs, replaying songs that he loves, and frantically ranting about how much he loves a band, isn't to everyone's tastes.
Lowe's first interview on today's second show is Eminem. Check out the schedule here.
