Emmy-winning actress Lena Dunham made a celibacy vow when she was just nine-years-old and pledged to remain a virgin until she graduated from high school.
The 26-year-old Girls creator and star has penned a chapter in her new autobiography, Not That Kind of Girl, about losing her virginity.
During a recent chat with Ellen DeGeneres, Dunham discussed the important moment in her life and about her celibacy vow she made while still in primary school.

"I was nine years old and decided to be celibate until after high school. I wrote out a contract and ate the piece of paper, because I thought that's how you officially sealed contracts.
"I wanted my mum to sign it to make it official, but she was like, 'You just never know what's going to happen. I don't want you to sign a contract you cant keep and then feel guilty about it, so no, I'm not going to sign the contract', which I thought was very enlightened of her," Dunham said on the Ellen Show on Monday.
Dunham added: "And it turns out I didn't need a contract ... I think I thought that it was going to be pretty easy to find a guy who would be interested in divesting in this, but it turned out to be a real wild goose chase.
"And when it finally happened, I was comparing it to Donna and David (from Beverly Hills, 90210), with flower petals and candles. I did not have a Donna and David moment."
