"They each got a tattoo," the veteran artist told the publication, "Justin's tattoo is on his face, and I haven't seen any photos of it — so he's doing a good job of laying low."
He went on to describe the new ink, adding "It's really thin and delicate. And [it's] also not a traditional couples' tattoo... I don't want to give away what it is until press gets a hold of it."
Of course a photo taken on Monday in New York seemingly did reveal the new tattoo, which confirmed McCurdy's description that it contained "little words," albeit indecipherable ones.
Bieber has long had a taste for tattoos and in fact is covered almost head to toe in ink. Back in April the heartthrob posted a shirtless snap and gushed over his love for body art.
"If tattooed (sic throughout) didn't hurt everyone would have them. Well maybe not very one!!Over a hundred hours of art work on my body and I wouldn't take back a single one.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ART AND IVE MAde my body a canvas and it's SO MUCH FUN," he told his more than 100 million Instagram followers.
McCurdy has been behind many A-lister's famous skin designs, including Rihanna's egyptian falcon tattoo.
