Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins may have rejected both of his two Bachelorette finalists in the hopes of wooing the "one that got away".
In a twist ending, the Honey Badger dumped both Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley at the final rose ceremony on The Bachelor Australia.
He said it"wouldn't be fair to enter into something that a few months down the track I'd be breaking her heart".
But according to Woman's Day, Cummins simply couldn't stop thinking about Brooke Blurton after she - in another of the show's shock twists - walked away from the show leaving him "broken" and "in hell" for days.
Cummins previously told The Project Australia: "The eyes don't lie... there was something left unsaid, there were a lot of emotions left swirling around. [Brooke] got away in that regard."
Now, a friend has told the magazine: "He wanted to reveal his true feelings for Brooke. Nick's a genuine guy and he didn't want to hurt any of the girls, most of all Brooke.
"When he realised she was the one he had true feelings for, he ended things with the other two and finally confessed to Brooke how he really felt – took him long enough."
Nick had reportedly designed a ring with Brooke in mind which would "encompass the emotional and spiritual journey that he has been through during the show," Larsen Jewellery's Kate Reid told the magazine.
