According to a press release, it will land in cinemas around theworld in 2027, though a specific date has not been set. It will then stream on Disney+. It will screen on ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia.
The actors behind the well-known characters on the TV series will also voice the film, including David McCormack and Melanie Zanetti.
Animation producer Amber Naismith, whose credits include global hits The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, and Happy Feet, will produce the film. Richard Jeffrey, who directed the first three seasons of Bluey, will direct.
“So going further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that. I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
The immersive attraction includes a life-sized recreation of Bluey’s home, which she shares on the show with mum Chilli, dad Bandit, and younger sister Bingo.
The show, which Brumm based on his experience of raising his daughters, first aired on ABC and BBC in 2018. Since then, it’s taken the world by storm and is the top-watched show on TVNZ+ in New Zealand.
