A much-loved music festival based on Auckland's waterfront is set to reveal its new home this week.
The St Jerome's Laneway festival has been based at Silo Park for the past five years, attracting 12,000 punters for a day of music and sun on Auckland Anniversary Day.
But the festivalhas been forced to move after outgrowing its Silo Park site.

Promoter Mark Kneebone confirmed to the Herald that a new site had been chosen and would be revealed later this week.
Kneebone said expectations from festival-goers were increasing, and Laneway would meet them.
"The key thing for us (is) that you're asking someone to give us 10 hours of their day. That's a huge investment. You've gotta make it as comfortable as possible, and get the best bands available.
"If you get that balance right, people will come back," says Kneebone.
New sites rumoured for the festival include Auckland Domain, Western Springs and Victoria Park.
It will be the festival's fourth site after kicking off at Britomart in 2010, and moving to Aotea Square in 2011.
This year's festival included performances by Vince Staples, The Internet, Hermitude, Flume, Hudson Mohawke, Chvrches, METZ, Purity Ring and Shamir.

Next year's festival is being held on Monday, January 30. The new site is being announced on Thursday in TimeOut, and the line-up will be confirmed next week.
