Reality TV star Kylie Jenner's controversial wheelchair photo shoot has been recreated by an amputee model.
Lauren Wasser, who lost her right leg in 2012 after developing toxic shock syndrome, wears a gold prosthetic and poses in a gold wheelchair similar to that used in Jenner's fetish shoot for Interview magazine's December issue.
Jenner's photoshoot received backlash, with some observers labelling it insensitive.
"We weren't coming from a negative place but rather, 'Oh wait let's show real life'," Wasser's photographer Jennifer Rovero told E! News.

"We wanted to create a conversation as we are trying to change how beauty is defined."
Rovero said she sparked into action when she heard claims of a lack of disabled models.
Interview magazine has defended the Jenner shoot by photographer Steven Klein.
"The Kylie feature aims to unpack Kylie's status as both engineer of her image and object of attention," an Interview spokesperson said.
