Silver Fern Farms Beef Flat-Iron Steaks are a shining example of the best grass-fed beef New Zealand has to offer. All Silver Fern Farms beef is selected by Master Graders using their Eating Quality System® to ensure premium quality beef cuts that are tasty, tender and juicy, every time. Silver Fern Farms Flat-Iron Steaks are then skilfully removed from the shoulder and expertly trimmed to guarantee tenderness. As a cut that is full of flavour, they require little more than a quick pan fry and a bed of glistening beetroot to sit upon.

Ingredients

1 TbspOlive oil
2 mediumBeetroot, coarsely grated (Main)
1 tspCoriander seeds, toasted and crushed
1 tspFennel seeds, toasted and crushed
2 tspHoney
1Orange, juiced
1 packetSilver Fern Farms Flat Iron Steaks (Main)

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan add beetroot coriander seeds and fennel seeds. After a few minutes add honey and orange juice and simmer until the beetroot is tender and the juice has reduced to a syrup. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Meanwhile cook the steak: Heat a frying pan. Sprinkle Silver Fern Farms Beef Flat-Iron Steaks with salt and pepper, drizzle with oil and fry 3 minutes each side. Remove and rest, covered for 5 minutes.
  3. Slice the steaks and serve on top of beetroot with a side of vegetables.
