Ingredients
1 Tbsp | Butter |
3 large | Quinces (Main) |
2 | Oranges |
¼ cup | Water |
3 | Star anise pods |
1 | Vanilla bean |
2 tsp | Rosewater |
1 | Cinnamon stick |
3 Tbsp | Honey |
1 to serve | Cream, or yoghurt |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a baking dish liberally with softened butter. Peel the quinces, core and slice. Lay in the baking dish.
- Pour over the orange juice (from the 2 oranges) and water then add the star anise, halved and scraped vanilla bean, rosewater, cinnamon and honey.
- Cover with a sheet of baking paper and bake for 1 hour. Reduce the temperature to 150C and bake for a further 2 hours or until a deep ruby colour. Can be served with cream or yoghurt.
