More than 250,000 electric bottle warmers are being recalled because they can overheat and start a fire. Other recalled consumer products this week include faulty computer batteries and hard hats.

ELECTRIC BOTTLE AND FOOD WARMERS
DETAILS: Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature electric bottle and food warmers, sold separately or as an accessory with the Complete Starter Kit or the All in One Newborn Set. Bottle and food warmers included on this recall have "Min" or "0'' stamped on the left-hand side of the control dial and have the UL logo and a six alpha-numeric batch code that begins with a number and ends with "GY" stamped on the underside. Consumers should visit www.tommeetippee.us/bottle-warmer to complete the free replacement registration form. They were sold at mass-merchandise stores nationwide and online from July 2011 through April 2016.
WHY: The warmers can overheat and catch on fire, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
INCIDENTS: Six reports of bottle and food warmers overheating, melting, smoking and catching on fire, resulting in $16,000 in property damage.

BABY RATTLES
DETAILS: The Land of Nod's Octo-rattles, sold individually or as part of a gift bag set. The knit fabric rattles are yellow and shaped like an octopus with multi-colored felt discs sewn into the tentacles. "The Land of Nod," ''Morton Grove, IL 60053," ''951-3072461," ''Made in India" and SKU number 502882 are printed on a label attached to the underside of the rattle. They were sold at The Land of Nod stores nationwide and online from September through April.
WHY: The fabric discs on the tentacles of the octopus rattles can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
INCIDENTS: Five reports of the rattle's fabric discs detaching. No injuries have been reported.
HOW MANY: About 550.

ROOM SENSORS
DETAILS: Ecovent Room Sensors, which plug into an electrical outlet, measure room temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The unit also provides electrical outlets in the center of the device and USB ports on the sides. "Ecovent," model number "SS1," part number "901-00001" and date numbers 4415-5215 and 0116-0916" are printed on a label on the back of the device. They were sold online at www.ecoventsystems.com from December through April.
WHY: The cover can come off during normal use, exposing high voltage components and posing an electrical shock hazard.
INCIDENTS: Two incident reports of the faceplate falling off. No injuries have been reported.
HOW MANY: About 600.

HARD HATS
DETAILS: 3M vented hard hats sold under the 3M, 3M Tekk Protection and AOSafety brands. "3M" or "AOSafety" is molded into the white plastic on the top of the brim. "XLR8 VENTED" is molded onto the bottom of the brim. "ANSI Z89.1" is printed on a sticker inside the hard hats. This recall only involves the 3M hard hats sold online at Alliedelec.com, Amazon.com and HomeDepot.com from January 2008 through April 2016.
WHY: Hard hats sold online were marketed to protect against electric shock, but they do not provide this protection, posing a shock hazard to consumers.
INCIDENTS: None reported.
HOW MANY: About 7,500.

COMPUTER BATTERIES
DETAILS: Lithium-ion batteries containing Panasonic cells that are used in HP notebook computers. The batteries are compatible with HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion notebook computers. The battery bar code is printed on the back of the battery. "HP Notebook Battery" and the model number are printed on the battery. The batteries included in this recall have the following barcodes: 6BZLU, 6CGFK, 6CGFQ, 6CZMB, 6DEMA, 6DEMH, 6DGAL and 6EBVA. They were sold at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Costco and authorized dealers nationwide and online at www.hp.com from March 2013 through August 2015.
WHY: The battery packs can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
INCIDENTS: Seven reports of battery packs overheating, melting or charring, including four reports of property damage of about $4,000 total.
HOW MANY: About 41,000 in the U.S., about 2,600 in Canada and about 4,500 in Mexico.

SCALES
DETAILS: OMP M-100 digital hanging bow scales that measure the user's peak or holding weight in archery and bow hunting. M-100 and the OMP logo are printed in black lettering on the front of the scale. They were sold at Academy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Gun World & Archery Shop, Scheel's and other sporting goods stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Eder's, OctoberMountainProducts.com, Walmart.com and other online retailers from November through March.
WHY: The mounting ring on the scales can break during use, posing impact and laceration hazards to the user.
INCIDENTS: Four reports of the mounting ring on the scale breaking, including one report of a laceration to the hand that required stitches.
