Anduril Industries has manufactured an autonomous submarine prototype in Sydney, Australia, in collaboration with the Royal Australian Navy.
The warfare technology manufacturer Anduril Industries has a plan in place to protect the Pacific Ocean, beginning with making its extra-large autonomous submarines in Australia.
The privately-owned United States company recently raised US$2 billion at a US$30.5b ($51.6b) valuation.
“We’re basically on a war footing,” Anduril’s senior vice-president ofprogrammes and engineering, Dr Shane Arnott, told Markets with Madison at its headquarters in Costa Mesa, California.
“People don’t think about this, but, we are.”
Arnott - an Australian - leads Anduril’s underwater hardware division, which included an autonomous undersea vehicle dubbed “Ghost Shark”.
“The last domain that is left open is subsea. Period.”
Go inside Anduril’s California headquarters and see its autonomous submarines up close, in today’s episode of Markets with Madison above.
