Managing director of HP New Zealand, Russell Hewitt, resigned today to take up a senior role at Vodafone Australia.
Mr Hewitt joined Compaq as managing director in December 1999 and was appointed to head HP New Zealand following HP's merger with Compaq in May last year.
Previously, he headed Computerland New Zealand and held various management positions in IBM.
Mr Hewitt said he was leaving HP in a strong position after the merger.
HP services head Simon Tong will act as the interim managing director until a successor to Mr Hewitt is appointed.
