Faesenkloet's big retail drive

Former Bond & Bond owner Eric Faesenkloet this week opened the Southern Hemisphere's biggest golfing shop.

Faesenkloet began The Golf Warehouse chain five years ago and it now takes 20 per cent of the industry's $50 to $60 million sales per year.

This week, The Golf Warehouse opened a 1022sq m store on Newton Road, Auckland.

Faesenkloet bought Bond & Bond when he was 30, built it up and sold it 10 years later. It is now part of the Pacific Retail Group.

Faesenkloet says The Golf Warehouse, which now has three stores, is planning to open two more within the next year.
