The Chiefs Super 12 side's management expect to confirm the venues for next year's competition on Monday.
The 2001 draw is being finalised by the New Zealand Rugby Football Union.
It is anticipated that the Chiefs' opening home game would be at Rotorua's International Stadium against the Queensland Reds on March 2.
Chiefs chief executive Gary Dawson confirmed that it was widely known that the Chiefs' first home game would be at the renovated Rotorua venue.
But he denied radio reports that Rotorua would officially become the Chiefs' home for the season while the upgrading of the Hamilton Stadium took place.
Following the decision by the Taupo District Council to underwrite a match at Easter to the tune of $100,000, it is expected the draw will confirm an Easter Saturday night match there at Owen Delany Park between the Chiefs and South Africa's Sharks.
