About 100 homes in Auckland are without electricity tonight after a vehicle crashed into a power pole in Westmere.
Electricity is not expected to be restored until tomorrow when a new pole be installed.
The crash happened on West End Rd near Fife St about 7pm.
Police said no one was injured but cordons were put up and traffic diverted to neighbouring streets as emergency services arrived.
A Vector spokesman told the Herald tonight that initially after the crash, about 988 households were without power.
Most of those homes had their electricity cut as a safety measure for emergency services working at the site at the time of the crash.
The spokesman said as of 9.30pm, up to 100 homes directly affected by the damaged power pole were without electricity.
