Police have today released the name of the woman killed in a horror crash on a Tauranga highway last week.
She was Leigh Antoinette Rhodes, 60, who had been helping change a tyre on State Highway 29A between Baypark and Maungatapu on Friday at 4.15pm.
Ms Rhodes was being helped by Tauranga man Kenny McCrae and one of his best mates when the trio were hit by another car.

Mr McCrae died at the scene. Ms Rhodes and the other man were taken to Tauranga Hospital with critical injuries. Ms Rhodes did not survive.
The other man was this morning in a serious but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing Sergeant Wayne Hunter said police were still keen to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the crash who they might not have already spoken to.
''We've got about 15 people who have rung us so far, so if we get any more, that would be great,'' Mr Hunter said.
