The daughter of a Wellington man missing for ten days in Thailand has appealed for help to find him.
Teal Edwards-Missen posted on Facebook yesterday that her father, artist and furniture designer Andrew Missen, had not returned from Thailand when expected.
"My dad, Andrew Missen, has gone missing in Ko Samui an island off Bangkok in Thailand. No one in our family has heard from him in over 10 days," she wrote.
"He's supposed to have arrived back in New Zealand but he never arrived at the airport in Thailand.
"Attached is a photo of him, please please please share this for me, he's my best friend and we're all so worried. If ANYONE knows ANYTHING or has heard from him please contact me asap."
When contacted by NZME for comment, Mr Missen's father Lindsay Missen said the family were "on the case this morning" but could not provide any further information regarding his disappearance.
"We've got a whole number of things to juggle and find out about questions that need to be answered," he said.
Mr Missen is known for designing furniture for a number of Wellington eateries, including The Deluxe, Chow, Maranui and Hummingbird.
He has also worked with star chef Al Brown to design chairs, tables and fittings for his restaurants, including Depot.
His website states that he lives with his daughter Teal and dog Honey, with his studio and store, Nidus, based in Newtown.
Police are looking into the disappearance.
"We are making inquiries with our Bangkok-based police liaison officer and have been in contact with a member of Mr Missen's family," a spokeswoman said.
