May 5 - A sheep drench spill at the Wellington ferry terminal sparked a hazardous chemicals response this morning .
Nine firefighting units including a decontamination team were called to the Interislander terminal after the spill about 7.22am, Fire Service central communications shift manager Jan Wills said.
"It turned out to be sheep drench that was leaking off a truck,'' she told APNZ.
The spill has now been cleared and firefighters have left the scene.
An Interislander spokeswoman said the truck had been waiting to board the 8.15am sailing of the Kaitaki when it was found to be leaking a substance.
"Due process was followed and the Fire Service was called to investigate,'' she said.
The incident did not delay any services and the Kaitaki sailed on to Picton.
