Police have arrested a male cross-dresser after two bank robberies in Manawatu.
The man and a woman were stopped in a car by police in central Palmerston North soon after a Kiwibank was robbed about noon yesterday.
The man, wearing a skirt and high-heeled boots, made off with about $800, police said.
A Kiwibank in Feilding was also robbed late last month.
A 34-year-old Marton man will appear in Palmerston North District Court today facing two counts of robbery.
The woman was released without charge.
