Angel wings proved to be the winning ingredient for a pup at a West Auckland dog show yesterday.
Hundreds of people - and more than 200 dogs - turned out for the 25th Scruff's Dog Show held at the Kumeu Showgrounds.
Many owners put their pups up for categories that included Best Dressed, Owner Lookalike, Hairiest Dog and the Ultimate Westie Dog.
Kirsty White's Japanese Spitz, Koda, took home the Best Dressed title thanks to a set of angel wings on his back and blue leis draped around his neck and paws.
The winner of the Ultimate Westie Dog went to a pooch who had apparently watched every episode of Outrageous Fortune with his owner.
Sisters Emelina and Marela Glavas were among those who entered the Owner Lookalike category and who sported spots for the day to support their dalmatian pups.
The show was run by the Ranui-Swanson Lions Club and all proceeds will go towards raising hearing, mobility and guide dogs.
President Zora Vitasovich said: "It was a real family fun day. There were a lot of different dogs and it was a great time for everyone."
