A South Australian woman has escaped injury after she was swept out to sea trying to save her dog from the swell.
The woman, 54, went into the water and was swept out about 100m offshore of Basham Beach near Port Elliot, on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, and couldn't swim back in.
Luckily, surfers paddled out to help her.
