An Australian flight attendant has had her life tragically cut short in an early-morning roadside accident in Fiji.
Lucinta Evans died on March 28 after she was hit by a taxi near Nadi International Airport, according to the Daily Mail.
Evans, who was employed by Virgin Australia, had celebrated her28th birthday only weeks before her death.
The Daily Mail reported a taxi collided with another car in the town of Martintar about 5am, before the driver lost control and swerved off course, striking Evans, who had been standing on the side of the road.
Police said driver negligence may have been a factor in the accident and were understood to be interviewing the taxi driver as part of their inquiries, the Daily Mail reported.
An image posted by the Fiji Times shows a roadside vigil at the crash site, including photos and floral tributes.

Online tributes from family and colleagues recalled Evans’ vivaciousness.
“She was truly full of life, with a light and energy that touched everyone who knew her,” her sister Gabriana Evans wrote.
“Thank you for keeping Lucinta, her beloved partner, and our close family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.”
Heartfelt condolences were also offered by Virgin Australia’s Fijian cabin crew.
“Losing crew is like losing family and I can’t imagine how you’re feeling but love you all so much,” one wrote.
“She was the life of the party, main character baddie with the best personality and got along with anyone she crossed paths with! Gone way too soon beautiful Cinta, fly high,” wrote another.
“Wish I was on this trip with her to keep her safe,” cabin manager Lissy Hyde wrote.
“I ask you to look after us from above. Fly with us my girl, beat us to every destination so we know you’re there. You are loved, and we will continue to live life as bright and loud as you.”
A GoFundMe page has been created to support her family, with some funds allocated for “raising awareness and helping prevent future incidents at this location”.
The page’s creator also hoped some money could be used to erect a memorial plaque.
Evans’ funeral will be held at the Wetherill Park Seventh-day Adventist church in western Sydney next Monday.
