After more than eight years of lawsuits and government reviews, the Obama Administration cleared the way for America's first offshore wind farm yesterday.
Now 130 windmills, 134m tall could rise from the ocean a few kilometres off Cape Cod.
"We are beginning a new direction in our nation's energy future," US Interior Secretary Ken Salazar declared in announcing his approval of the US$2 billion Cape Wind project.
